Description
Being a parent is a hugely rewarding role – but it can also be a challenging one. Whether you are a mum, dad, step-parent or grandparent, raising children can be the greatest joy in the world, but it’s not the easiest of jobs.
Parenting With Heart and Head
Parent Network Scotland offers a unique capacity building model enhancing family resilience providing opportunities for learning in communities. We do this by offering a toolkit that provides positive parenting practise that helps families grow and blossom. As parents ourselves we believe that this model will support parents to build Connections with Peers, closer relationships, learning new skills, discovering strengths, gaining new qualifications and improving communities.
Family Wellbeing Toolkit
Our family Wellbeing Toolkit is a 4-week course offering a holistic approach to compassionate self-care, inspired by Parent Network Scotland tools, Fill Your Cup, Emotional Flooding and Capacitar for Kids. The workshops are designed to promote positive health & wellbeing through experiential learning, whilst providing an opportunity to connect with other parents.
Brief course outline:
Session 1 – Introduction to Fill Your Cup, Breathing Techniques and Massage
- Aim – To remind ourselves to check in with how we are feeling.
- Aim -To promote calm and positive self-care.
Session 2 – Exploring emotional flooding, Introduction to EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique and Finger Holds
- Aim – To aid emotional intelligence and resilience.
Session 3 – Introduction to Visualisations and Mindfulness
- Aim – To create a safe/calm place.
- Aim – To increase self – awareness of being in the moment.
Session 4 – Movement and Reflection
- Aim – To have fun, promote calm, focus and concentration.
- Aim – To celebrate our success.
