Description

Prescribe Culture is a heritage-based, non-clinical initiative developed to support those needing help with mental wellbeing.

Currently Prescribe Culture offers an early intervention referral only option for students studying at any of the universities and colleges in Edinburgh. Programme 6 Students is a series of 6 x 90 minute sessions, facilitated by heritage, nature and outdoor engagement professionals, designed to support students struggling with their mental health because of loneliness, isolation, anxiety, depressive symptoms, stress, etc.

Programme 6 Students is by referral only, referrals are welcome from a broad spectrum of health, and welfare related professionals, e.g. Student Wellbeing Advisers, GPs, Counselling Services, Chaplaincy, ResLife and The Advice Place staff.

Location information

  • Wheelchair access – various per semester but will include St Cecilia’s Hall and Music Museum and the UCreate Makerspace, alongside delivery partner venues such as the National Library of Scotland, The Pleasance and Fountainbridge Canal Trust.
