Description
VOCAL’s peer mentoring service connects carers in Edinburgh to others who have experience of unpaid caring. Through 1-2-1 sessions, you can talk about your experiences and feelings with someone who has been through something similar.
Peer mentoring can be useful if group sessions aren’t right for you, or if you want to talk about your worries with someone who is not one of your friends or family.
You can connect with your peer mentor on a common experience like caring for:
- Your parents, partner, or child
- Someone with a specific diagnosis such as dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer, stroke, MS, COPD, autism, eating disorder or a learning disability
- Someone who has additional care and support packages
- Someone who uses substances like drugs or alcohol
