Online perinatal support groups (JUNO Perinatal Mental Health Support)

Availability : Edinburgh Wide

Who is this for?

For mums in the perinatal period who are facing low mood or mental health challenges brought on by pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

Generally we support women from the start of pregnancy till their child turns two years old.

Description

Juno Perinatal Mental Health Support was founded by a group of mums in Edinburgh who all have personal experience of struggling with their mental health during the perinatal period. We support other perinatal or postnatal mums through our weekly peer support groups.

Our main aim is to help mums who are struggling with their mental health realise that they are not alone in how they feel.

Our volunteers all have personal experience of these feelings of isolation/despair and the devastating impact it can have on the whole family. Juno is here to reassure mums and mums-to-be, that there is light at the end of what appears to be a very long, dark tunnel and with the right support you can, and will, get better.

We are here to give additional support from mums with lived experience –  offering a safe space where mums can feel listened to and share their feelings in a relaxed environment  with lots of empathy and absolutely no judgement.
