Description
The service is run by two part-time cognitive behavioural therapists. The service consists of free psychoeducational groups to teach basic cognitive behavioural techniques to the general public.
The group is suitable for adults with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. People can self refer to the group, but attendees must be over 18 and living independently. People are required to email before attending and will be assessed for risk at self-referral.
Group attendees are also able to access low cost one-to-one therapy but this will be within the limits of therapist availability, resources and the therapist’s ability to meet an individual’s therapeutic needs.
The service’s aim is to increase the availability of mental health support to local adult communities in an affordable and sustainable way.
