People aged between 14 and 24 years old

Description

RUTS is a charity designed to deliver vocational training and employability support to young people aged between 14 and 24 years old. This training and support can equip you with the tools and opportunities that they need to achieve success, reach your potential and sustain a positive destination.

The services are delivered using mobile equipment; motorbikes, bicycles and boxing/fitness. RUTS have a diverse team of full-time staff who deliver these activities, which are also coupled with the delivery of nationally recognised qualifications (QS/SCQF). These activities aim to improve your health and wellbeing through practical and vocational nature.

Through these activities, you can learn new skills for work and skills for life, as well as gaining qualifications, and increasing your confidence and resilience.

RUTS operates a mobile delivery service across the community, in addition to our facility based in Penicuik.

To access the Penicuik Youth Hub venue:

Lothian Buses
37: Connects Silverknowes with Penicuik Deanburn or Easter Bush.
X37: Runs between Granton Harbour and Penicuik Deanburn.
47: Travels between Cammo and Penicuik Ladywood.
47B: A variation of the 47 that runs via the Bush Estate.

East Coast Buses
140: Connects Musselburgh with Penicuik.
141: Also runs between Musselburgh and Penicuik.

Borders Buses
X62: A service from Galashiels to Edinburgh.

Other services
800: A trial route operating between Penicuik and Pathhead, operated by East Coast Buses.
