Buddying is for people aged 18 years old and over, who would like to improve mental wellbeing and connect to nature.

Description

Garden Buddying
A weekly 1:1 session with a volunteer (buddy) at the garden, getting involved in gardening activities. This is an opportunity for those who want to get involved in seasonal gardening activities, do some light exercise and develop confidence with a buddy before joining a group. Buddying runs for an initial period of  12-weeks.

We are all weather gardeners! We encourage you to bring a hat in warm weather, layers in cold weather and a waterproof when it’s wet. There is a toilet at the garden but unfortunately it is not currently wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets are available inside the hospital approx. 300 meters from the garden.

All activities are based at the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens, Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Tipperlinn Road, Morningside, EH10 5HF.

  • Bus routes 5, 11, 15, 16, 23, 36 to Morningside Road (10-minute walk)
  • Bus route 45 to Colinton Road (10-minute walk)

Opening times

Buddying takes place for 1 or 2 hours (participant dependent) throughout Wednesdays.
