CrossReach Counselling and Recovery (CrossReach)

Availability : Edinburgh Wide

Who is this for?

  • Adults (from 18+) affected by past or present opioid drug use or someone else’s past or present drug use. We are an inclusive service and welcome people of all ethnicities, cultures, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds.

Description

Our Counselling and Recovery team provides support to those aged 18 and over who are affected by their own or someone’s past/present drug use, mainly opioids and benzodiazepines. Our clients must be living in EH1-17,28-30 and registered with a GP.
This service offers individual counselling. Counselling is a space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings on issues relating to your own or someone else’s drug use. This may be looking at the way your life is affected by it or exploring past experiences which led to drug use. We work on many issues including trauma, anger, self-worth, loss, relationships, anxiety, shame, abuse (emotional, sexual, physical, etc), and understanding addiction.
Your counsellor works with you at a pace that is right for you.
All our counsellors bring knowledge of substance use and addiction to their work and share a client-focused approach which reflects the client’s agenda and priorities in counselling. Counselling staff are trained in a variety of counselling approaches.  All have a recognised qualification in counselling at diploma level or equivalent.
