Advocacy helps you have a stronger voice and a greater chance of influencing decisions about your life.
Advocard advocacy workers start by listening to what you need and help you get information about your rights so that you can weigh up the best options for you. They can help you express your views to the right services (at meetings or through letters). Advocard can help you understand the decisions made.
These services can either be inside the prison (Scottish Prison Service, social work, NHS) or on the outside (law firms, children and families social work), anywhere in Scotland and sometimes UK wide.
