Description
Arts Therapies are person-centred psychological therapies that are based across NHS Lothian in Community, Inpatient and Children and Young People Services.
The Art Therapies team aims to work with you if you don’t find words accessible or helpful when describing or understanding intense emotional experiences. This could be due to your processing capacity being impacted but often it is due to complex trauma or a period of acute mental health difficulties.
The interactive use of the art form; art, music, drama, or dance, can support a trusting relationship to develop, allow you to feel listened to and understood. This can create opportunities for figuring our personal priorities, learning and change.
