Fresh Rooms (Fresh Start)

Availability : Edinburgh Wide

Who is this for?

  • Those who have moved into their tenancy within the last 6 months following a period of homelessness

Description

This service is available to people who have recently moved into permanent accommodation, eg. a new Council or Housing Association tenancy, with the opportunity to redecorate up to 2x rooms in the home.

Our team of Fresh Rooms volunteers, alongside our Fresh Rooms Coordinators, work with the person to plan, prepare and repaint the two spaces and make them feel fresh, clean and comfortable.

We take a dignified approach to this service, working alongside the tenant and giving them the opportunity to pick the colours and choose how they want their new home to look. We provide the paint and the enthusiasm, transforming tired tenancies into lovely new homes.

We also offer a ‘remote Fresh Rooms service’, where we provide the paint and materials to allow a tenant to carry out the work themselves, in their new home.
