Family Support: Drugs and alcohol (FSDA) (Voice Of Carers Across Lothian)

Availability : Edinburgh Wide

Provided by: VOCAL

Who is this for?

Carers of someone who uses drugs or alcohol, aged 18 and over.

Description

We provide one-to-one support for carers/family/friends of someone who uses drugs or alcohol, to help you cope with how this affects you. We encourage you to find ways to achieve more balance in your life or to reduce your isolation, and to think through how you would like to be involved in their care. Our support conversations can be in person or over the phone. You can speak to an experienced Carer Support Practitioner with specialist knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery which takes the whole family into account.

Part of this service is a fortnightly SMART (Self-Management And Recovery Training) group, open to carers registered with VOCAL in Edinburgh (not Midlothian). Every second Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm at our Edinburgh Carers’ Hub – free to drop in.
