Description
Our dementia inclusive activities aim to connect carers and people living with dementia with others in a similar situation to provide a sense of community.
This service provides social and emotional support, both peer-to-peer and by The Eric Liddell Community facilitator of the groups.
We offer a twice weekly Lunch programme where diners can relax and enjoy the company of people who understand the day-to-day challenges that dementia can have on family and friends. As well as peer support it also offers a great range of activities aimed to bring people together and improve health and wellbeing.
Physical activity – group appropriate classes include Tai Chi and active sit exercises
Social interaction – participants have an opportunity to engage with one another and the session leaders over tea breaks, lunch and during the activity sessions
Creativity and enjoyment- fun and engaging group sessions including music and singing, arts and crafts, and interactive activity
