Description
Founded in 2016, we are a third sector organisation operating across Scotland. We provide extensive support for people impacted by trauma, regardless of who they are, or what their circumstance may be.
We actively promote the voice of lived and living experience and recruit a range of people with differing experiences and backgrounds. This has supported consistent developments within our recovery pathway which offers responsive, and person-centred supports for survivors of trauma. Our staged process of trauma recovery is available within one service, meaning survivors only need to tell their story once.
Stage 1 – Safety and stabilisation – This offers survivors the opportunity to regain control of their day-to-day life and to prepare them for our stage 2 Counselling service.
Stage 2 – Remembrance and mourning – Our counselling service is provided by several highly experienced and skilled counsellors and psychotherapists. This stage of support begins after the survivor has successfully integrated the stabilisation skills taught in stage one
Stage 3 – Finding meaning – Our post traumatic growth programme includes emotional intelligence, mindset and behaviours, and personality testing. These sessions have supported many survivors to increase confidence, have a greater understanding of trauma and how their experience has impacted them and a toolkit of techniques to help them deal with negative emotions and behaviours.
Stage 4 – Living life with purpose – Our mentoring training programme offers those who have progressed through our services to take the next step in their journey by training to become mentors who will go on to support others.
Our organisation differs from other survivor focussed organisations due to our strength in supporting approaches in prevention and this has supported the ongoing development of our sibling sexual abuse services. This service offers adult survivors, children, young people and families, access to a whole family approach to healing.
All services adopt trauma responsive approaches and processes to ensure the persons voice and needs are central.
