Who is this for?

Community groups and individuals with specific access requirements

Description

Free community sessions for groups: We invite community and access groups to explore the National Galleries of Scotland through our free guided sessions, available both online and in person. Led by experienced artists, these sessions encourage conversation, creativity and connection with art. They are open to all community groups, including those supporting language inclusion, disability inclusion, health and wellbeing, youth engagement, LGBTQ+ communities and many others.

Sessions last 90 min and include refreshments and a relaxed conversational tour. We can also tailor visits to suit the interests, access requirements, and specific needs of your group. Community groups are also welcome to book self-guided visits to the galleries. A range of resources and accessibility support is available to help visitors make the most of their experience, including Welcome Walls, relaxed hours, audio guides, audio description (AD) and British Sign Language (BSL) digital guides, sensory bags, and more.

Free accessible events for individual visitors: We also run a monthly programme of free accessible events for individual visitors to book. These include Relaxed Mornings (autism & learning disability friendly) for adults and for children; Sensory Art Club (PMLD friendly); Gallery Social (dementia friendly); BSL tours; Visually Impaired sessions and much more. You can also explore a range of other free events on our website, including talks, music performances, and family-friendly activities throughout the year.
