Who is this for?
Carer support is available to anyone over the age of 18 who is caring for someone facing challenges around food/body image. The person you care for can be any age. You do not have to live with the person you care for.
Description
The support groups are online once a month and are a place for carers to come together and give and receive peer support. It is a place to share experiences and learn from others. The aim of the groups is to foster a sense of community amongst carers and support people to care for both themselves and the person they care for.
Befriending offers you the chance to 1:1 speak to someone about how you are feeling. Your befriender is there to be a non-judgemental listening ear, to chat about whatever is affecting you that day. The befriending sessions will run over a 8-month period with a trained volunteer. Each session will last between 30 and 60 minutes. It starts with weekly sessions for the first 4 months, followed by fortnightly sessions for 4 months. Sessions can take place by phone, video call, or in person
