Who is this for?
- People aged 18 and over living with depression, low mood, stress or anxiety
The Depression and Anxiety Support Group is a friendly peer-led support group open to any adults living with depression, low mood, stress or anxiety.
It offers the opportunity for confidential local support, contact with others in a similar situation and the opportunity for you to explore positive ways of coping with depression and anxiety.
Groups are being held both online and in person.
Health in Mind will be limiting numbers attending the in-person sessions for the time being. Please pre-register to attend at email@example.com by 3.00 pm on the day of the meeting you would like to attend. If you are not pre-registered to attend, you will not be able to attend the session.
How do I access this?
- Self referral
- Referral by third party
If you would like to join any of the groups, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 3.00 pm on the day of the meeting you would like to attend.
While we do accept enquiries by a third party, we find that people are more likely to attend when they make the initial contact for themselves. If you are making an enquiry on somebody else’s behalf we only need to know their name, contact details and what information they need from us in order to decide if the group sounds like a helpful place for them.
Is there a cost?
- Wheelchair access
We host groups both online and in person. For both online and in person groups, please pre-register to attend by 3pm on the day of the meeting you would like to attend at the latest. We encourage you to try and book earlier than this for in person meetings as they can get booked up.
Unfortunately, due to ongoing scheduling issues we will be continuing to run a reduced service until the end of the year. However, please do check this page as further dates might be added.
Please note that all in person groups are now held at the Augustine United Church (George IV Bridge).
In Person Groups
The number of people who can attend each meeting is 10 plus the 2 facilitators. The person groups can book up before the day of the group – we advise to book in advance if possible. You will only be able to book one session at a time. You will be sent a confirmation email on the day of the meeting and will need to complete a short form in that email in order to confirm your spot.
