New Docuseries ‘Fae the Source’ Explores Masculinity and Men’s Mental Health in Scotland
31 October 2025

A new five-part docuseries, Fae the Source, is shining a light on masculinity, men’s mental health, and what it means to grow up as a man in Scotland today.
Funded by the Scottish Government through Young Scot, and part of the established AyeFeel suite of mental health resources, the series was created in response to rising concerns about “toxic masculinity” and the impact of misinformation and “false narratives” on young people.
Presented by gamer and former teacher Duncan, Fae the Source brings together open, honest conversations with experts in youth justice, violence reduction, fitness, and youth advocacy.
Across five episodes, the series explores the pressures many young men face – from stereotypes and social expectations to personal struggles – and how these experiences shape identity and wellbeing.
This is a valuable resource for anyone working with young people, and we encourage you to share it among your networks and communities.
