Free short film screening on grief: Monday 17 August
12 August 2026

Messy Films, Let’s Talk About Loss and Everyman Cinemas have collaborated to bring you a free screening of The Pigeon, a short film about navigating grief.
Frances, A bereaved young woman, believes her sister has been reincarnated as a pigeon.
This is the film’s UK premiere, as part of the Edinburgh Film Festival. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the filmmakers Chloe Culpin and Charlie Beaumont.
The screening is a safe place to bring your grief, whether you’re brand new to navigating this or have been holding it for a while.

Chloe lost her best friend and Charlie lost her brother in the same week in April 2022. After Chloe lost Phoebe, a chestnut brown pigeon landed on her balcony, and stayed there for a week. They made this film for fellow grievers, and are so excited to be able to share it through Let’s Talk About Loss.
