In the same boat: A boat trip for people affected by another’s drug/ alcohol use

VOCAL FSA, in conjunction with The Sorted Project, are offering a unique opportunity for family members and friends affected by someone else’s drug/ alcohol use to spend an afternoon on board ‘The Panacea’.

This barge boat will travel along the union canal through some areas of natural beauty just outside Edinburgh.  This leisurely afternoon will afford you a chance take some space and relax as you and enjoy some lunch and refreshments on the boat.

Travelling through beautiful surroundings you will have your own space and, if you wish, an opportunity to connect and speak with others who all have their own experiences of what it is like to care about someone who has a drug/ alcohol problem. In addition, you may like to speak with the crew of The Panacea who are all people in long-term recovery from drug/ alcohol problems and willing to share their experiences and stories of recovery.

When: Thursday 8th September

Times: boat will depart 12noon and return approximately 4pm
