Description

Cyrenians is a homelessness prevention charity based in Edinburgh. The Chances service supports people into recovery from gambling harm – whether they are impacted by their own gambling or another person’s gambling. Anyone can be at risk, however – those most at risk include those who may be at risk of experiencing homelessness, co-occurring addictions, mental health difficulties and more. The support offered is free, confidential, and non-time limiting. The Chances team adopts a non-judgemental and relationship-based approach supporting individuals to help guide them on their path toward recovery from gambling harm.

For people impacted by their own gambling we offer person-centred support that focuses on individual wishes and goals towards recovery, and we meet people where they are on their journey, whether they want to reduce or stop gambling. The Chances team currently offers one to one support, and have co-developed an LGBT+ Gambling Support group in Edinburgh which will be delivered online twice a month. Please contact the service for further details and to sign-up for the group.

The support offered to those impacted by someone else’s gambling promotes positive communication skills, improves wellbeing and much more.
