Peer Support Service (Held in Our Hearts)

Availability : Edinburgh Wide

Who is this for?

  • Bereaved parents, who have experienced the death of a baby, infant or pre-school-aged child

Description

A safe space where bereaved parents can feel seen, heard, and supported.

We recognise that the loss of your baby is incredibly traumatic, and support can be hugely beneficial, whether your loss is recent or many years ago. Baby loss can be extremely lonely, as you may struggle to find others who understand the confusing feelings and overwhelming emotions you are experiencing.

Peer support fosters genuine connection and a sense of community. It helps you feel less alone while learning to live without your precious baby.

What Is Peer Support?

Peer support is a compassionate approach where bereaved parents, who have undergone training, offer emotional and practical support to others navigating the grief of baby, infant or pre-school-aged child loss. These trained Peer Support Workers are there to journey with you at a time when you may be feeling overwhelmed and isolated, to gain hope and feel less alone.

Our Peer Support Workers

All our Peer Support staff have completed specialised training and have been bereaved for at least a year. This ensures they are in a position to provide compassionate and flexible support. We strive to match you with a Peer Support Worker who has had a similar experience to yours, fostering a deeper connection and understanding.
