Description

Smart Works Scotland is a women’s employability charity. We support unemployed women into employment through our clothing, coaching, and confidence service. 63% of our clients get a job within a month of coming to see us.

We can offer several different types of appointment depending on where a client is at in her employment journey:

Our Career Coaching appointment is a 1-hour session with one of our HR-trained coaches in which you can receive advice and feedback on improving your CV, writing cover letters and guidance on your job applications.

Our Interview Dressing and Preparation appointment can be used by those with an upcoming job interview. This is a 2-hour appointment. In the first hour, you spend time with our volunteer dressers finding an outfit you can feel confident in from our high-quality wardrobe. This outfit is free and yours to keep. In the second hour, you’ll spend time doing mock-interview practice with one of our coaches. 97% of our clients feel more confident about succeeding at their next interview after an appointment with us.

How do I access this?

  • Referral by third party

To book a Smart Works appointment, you will need to get someone who is supporting you on your employment journey to refer you. This could be a work coach at the jobcentre, a support worker or even a link worker in your local GP practice. For advice on who could support you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we can chat to you about possible options. Unfortunately, we cannot accept self-referrals.

Referrals can be made through our website, by calling us or by emailing us scotland@smartworks.org.uk.
